We thought it was crazy enough to go home to Ohio last weekend and see the damage a tornado had done to the once beautiful City of Progress :) It is even more serious when tornadoes reach the south!
Spence has spent nearly 5 summers in a row calming me down during thunderstorms explaining that tornadoes can't hit in the south and something abotu physics and moutnains...I don't know. What I do know is that he will never again utter those words. He came to the basement with me last night and never made fun of my over-preparedness one time. Turns out the emergency kit comes in handy when tornadoes DO hit in the south! :)
At one point we stopped to use the restroom and noticed the sound of water...and then watched as it flowed into our basement through the wall in the basement workshop. Spence worked the shop-vac as I stuffed old towels and dust rags under the door. Awesome!
The following are some pictures from the internet-not me because people who go out side to "watch" the storms are about as intelligent as people who drive 56 miles to save 2 cents on a gallon of gas as far as I am concerned!
It hailed so hard at one point that Spence was convinced it was the sound of the shingles and siding blowing clean off our house. I reminded him that it was probably just rain and hail as I have grown up listening to storms like this.
Here is the difference, though, between an Ohio tornado and a TN tornado...Ohio WARNS PEOPLE! Seriously, had we not installed basic cable a few weeks ago we'd still be sitting upstairs watching American Idol on the laptop not having a clue how bad it really was outside. Not a single siren went off...not one.
Seriously, Southerners...there are worst natural disasters than Dale Jr. not winning in overall points. Have a PLAN people!
The good news is that no one we know was hurt. The area was hit hard and people are still freaking out but damaged signs and trees can be fixed. If I were running for office down here my platform may have just changed to installing updated weather alert systems!
It started with the union of a cheesy Robertson and a single Burger and now the family is GROWING!

Kicking and Yawning...
We had another ultrasound this morning and Junior Burger was just kicking away...which made hiim super stubborn since he refused to move his hands and feet so the Ultrasound Technician could see whatever it was she was looking for. I wonder where he gets that from!? :)
Here are some pictures for your enjoyment...he FINALLY looks like a real baby and no longer like (in Spence's words) The Terminator!
Pretty sure there is NO denying that he is a boy at this point. So, sorry to Christy and others who have been wishing a tiny princess on us...it's not happening!! WOOHOO!! :) IN YOUR FACE!

Strike a pose...
What a wonderful weekend! Other than being windy, it was springtime in Tennessee. Usually our area averages artic frost int he morning and blistering sun by noon so it was nice that the state chose one season and stuck to it. We planted our garden which, even just as tiny leaves, looks a million times better than last year's attempt already!
We took advantage of yesterdays sun for another photo shoot...trying to capture the "magic" of my giant belly before it gets so hot that my swollen ankles make the growth spurt a competition! Enjoy!

The Big Reveal...
Since buying our house almost 2 years ago we have employed family and friends to help us pretty much gut and remodel every single room. Old wood paneling walls and neon shag carpets have been transformed into more modern looks that we both love for as cheap as humanly possible. Our house came straight out of 1971 and now it actually looks up-to-date and with our recent addition of basic cable and internet we are pretty much smack in the middle of the early 90's. Woohoo!
Anyway, the following is a progression of the nursery which is now pretty much done...yay! If you scroll down really fast it will be like a super sweet flip book!
The nursery when we bought it...
This is Nikki and I slaving away painting it green as it was first our office/2nd guest room...
This is Spence and I hard at work over the last few weeks...
And this is the nursery now...YAY!

...that is my favorite part! :)
We still have a few odds and ends to add here and there but overall we are really happy with how it turned out and super psyched to fill it with Junior Burger! Can't wait for you all to visit to see the nursery in person!!

Photo Shoot!
We are just baseboards away from finishing the nursery so those pictures will be up soon but we wanted to post this cute shot of us in the yard after church this Sunday. We are excited that it was beautiful nd sunny outside...until I realized that 86 degrees in April make me want to cry thinking about how hot it will be in August. On top of that I got my first taste of cankles...the beautiful hybrid of a leg and a foot when it is hot out and you are pregnant and everythign swells up and joins together. It sort of looks like an elephant leg. Awesome.

Skydiving in TN...
Before you have a meltdown, no, the baby and I are not jumping out of a plane. So, mom you can breathe easy.
Jessica and Xavier graced Spence and I with their presence for X's 8th birthday this past weekend. We went to Gatlinburg for laser tag, indoor skidiving, a waterpark hotel (that left much to be desired), and lots of good ole' Tennessee people watching.
The following are pictures from the event. Enjoy. Obviously Xav is in the red jumpsuit and Spence is in brown. They were going so fast most of the pictures are blurry so try to make them out as best you can...
Obviously we have two legends in the making here. For some reason, Spence and X did not appreciate the melodic tones of Jessica and I's duet vocals. Wierd!
They were pumped up and looking fabulous in those suits! It was like 2 of the Ninja Turtles were skydiving.
This is Spence. He was a natural...like he is at most sports that are likely to cause bodily injury. I don't get why they wouldnt' let him do summersaults mid-air!
Xav was basically a professional. Out of the 5 people in their flying class the instructor said Xav did the best...no joke. It was AWESOME!
Be afraid...be VERY afraid! Really, I think they might have been a tad nervous since it was Spence and X versus what appeared to be a few of the extras from the movie Deliverance. They were literally all wearing camo but our two guys. Par for the course in East Tennessee!
For those of you awaiting more baby pictures here are 2 from my phone. I am shocked there isn't a foot sticking out of my belly as hard as he has been kicking me lately. It is like I am going to give birth to some kind of David Beckham-Bruce Lee hybrid baby. It is nuts!!
